For chess coaches · free
Send a repertoire. See who drilled it, what stuck, who asked for help. Your students check their own games in ten seconds, and every mistake becomes a line they practise before the next lesson.

Twenty seconds, start to finish
These are real screens, not drawings. Morphy against the Duke of Brunswick, 1858, checked on a laptop in the time it takes to read this.

How it works
One game becomes a lesson, the lesson becomes lines, and the lines come back right before they are forgotten.
Paste a link or a username. Every move is graded on your device and the lesson is written in plain words.
One tap turns the key moments into lines in a notebook. Have a repertoire? Paste a Lichess study.
Lines come back just before they are forgotten. Puzzles come from your own games. Your coach sees what stuck.
For coaches
Who practised, who stalled, who asked for help — on one screen, so the hour goes on chess instead of catching up.
This is the app
What a student opens on a laptop, and what the drill looks like in their hand.

Drill · recall the move on the board. Hint, then Show me, then it comes back later.

Report · the same check on a phone.
For students
Paste the link. Every move gets graded on your device and the lesson is written in words you can use. Save the fix and it becomes a line you drill. No account, nothing uploaded.
Plain words
A ten-year-old can read the lesson. So can a parent. The numbers are there if you want them, one tap away.
This walks into a forced mate. Be7 holds the position together.
Instead: 8…Be7 9.Nxf6+ Qxf6Grabbing the queen walks straight into mate. Look at what your king is doing first.
Instead: 6…Be6 7.Qxg4 Nxe5The knight ignores the pinned queen. Take what is pinned before it runs away.
Instead: 12.Bxf6 Qxf6 13.Nd5Questions coaches ask
No. You mint a class code in Settings. A student joins with the code and a first name or nickname. That account has no email, no password, no profile and no messaging, by design. The name is shown only to you.
Class-code accounts collect nothing beyond that first name and their study data: notebooks, drill progress, puzzles. There are no ads and no social feed. You or a parent can have a class account deleted on request. The full wording is on the privacy page.
Students paste a Chess.com or Lichess link, or import every game by username. Re-importing refreshes a game instead of duplicating it. You can also paste a Lichess study and every chapter becomes a line in a notebook.
No. The game check runs Stockfish inside the browser, on the student's own device. Without signing in, notebooks live in the browser's local storage and never leave it. Signing in syncs notebooks, drill progress and puzzles across devices.
Every line a student drills is scored. On your screen each student shows what they know, when they last practised, how long since they checked in, and whether they sent you a game or a question. Your note lands on the exact move.
Yes. Notebooks are plain PGN files that open in any chess program. Download any notebook, or a full backup of everything, in one click. There is nothing to cancel because there is nothing to pay.
The web app at coachmatechess.com/app on any browser, installed to a home screen, or the iPhone and Android apps. All of them work offline; sync and stats wait for a connection.
Every feature, including the coach tools. An optional Supporter donation ($3/mo) pays for the servers and unlocks nothing.
No account to start, nothing to install, nothing to cancel.
Free forever · works offline · your notebooks are files you can take with you.
